Alice Tilton

Education & Food Forest Care Manager

alice@bostonfoodforest.org

Alice’s role with the Boston Food Forest Coalition is to oversee educational programming and support stewardship teams as they care for their food forests. In addition to coordinating and facilitating workshops, Alice partners with local instructors and educators to equip stewards with the ecological and organizing skills they need to meet their site’s unique goals.

Prior to working at BFFC, Alice was involved in multiple community organizing and climate activism projects since moving to Boston in 2016, with a focus on her home neighborhood of Dorchester. Professionally, her career in adult education has spanned a variety of settings and life stages, including teaching young adults and managing programming for a residential memory support community. Most recently, Alice managed a job training program for individuals whose working lives had been interrupted by challenging life circumstances.

Alice is enrolled in a Master of Public Health program at Johns Hopkins University where she is learning about the social determinants of health from a range of academic perspectives. Outside of work hours, Alice loves gardening in her pocket-sized yard and foraging in the Blue Hills and beyond. She also enjoys cooking and quilting.
