Hongbin is the Senior Food Forest and Green Infrastructure Construction Manager at BFFC. He manages the construction of food forest parks from groundbreaking through grand opening, and helps the team in the development and design of new food forest projects. 

Hongbin's journey to this work has come full circle. He began his career studying and teaching agriculture in China before moving to the United States to earn a Master of Landscape Architecture. While working with an environmental nonprofit in Central New York, he discovered his passion for designing landscapes that restore ecological systems, address urban environmental challenges, and bring communities together. Over the past 15 years, he has led community-based projects in green infrastructure, urban forestry, ecological restoration, and community greening, helping transform underutilized spaces into healthier, more resilient and more productive places.

His growing interest in regenerative landscapes led him to incorporate edible plants into green infrastructure and urban forestry projects, ultimately inspiring his move to BFFC. He is excited to help create food forests that bring together climate resilience, biodiversity, healthy food, and people. He enjoys working alongside community members and teammates, believes the best projects are built through collaboration, and is always ready to pitch in wherever it's needed.

Outside of work, Hongbin enjoys walking his family dog Teddy, running, gardening, or exploring nature and neighborhoods on foot. He believes some of the best ideas come from observing how people and nature interact, and that food forests have a unique ability to reconnect people with nature, one another, and the food they eat.
