Michelle Moon

Michelle joined the BFFC Board in Fall 2025, prior to which she collaborated with BFFC on two food forest projects as part of her work with the proposed Fairmount Greenway in Dorchester, Mattapan, and Hyde Park.
Michelle is an urban planner and designer who focuses on increasing and improving public spaces in Massachusetts through community-driven processes. For almost 20 years, Michelle has worked to support parks, greenways, and open space projects in the Boston area that center around connecting people with nature and making healthy lifestyles accessible to all.
In 2024, Michelle began working as the Open Space Planner for the City of Watertown and is currently overseeing the design of a new park and supporting park construction projects. In 2018, she founded Civic Space Collaborative (CSC), an LLC and registered woman-owned business, that champions open space and placemaking projects across Massachusetts.
Michelle has collaborated with 65 local government departments and committees, Boston-area and national non-profits, community groups, parks and greenway organizations, design firms, and state agencies – including groups such as the Fairmount Greenway, East Boston Greenway, A Better City, City of Northampton, Town of Belchertown, Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP), and more.
Michelle holds an MA in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University and a BA in Environmental Studies from Mount Holyoke College. Outside of work, she likes to bike, hike, camp, swim, and garden.
