Join the Boston Nature Center Food Forest Stewardship team for a two part workshop on natural basket weaving!
Start off the spring season at the BNC by learning about the environment around you and making a basket to use for all of your gardening needs this season. Participants will:
Learn to identify and responsibly harvest plants for natural weaving
Practice the art of basket-weaving in a supportive and fun environment
Leave the second session with a fully finished basket great for harvesting, holding tools, picnicking, and more!
Come as you are! This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience with weaving. We will meet in the covered gazebo area by the Clark Cooper Community Garden.
Note: this is the first of two sessions on basket weaving at the BNC. The second session will be held on the afternoon of Saturday, April 18th. In order to finish a full basket, you must come to both workshops. If you’d like to practice weaving and not make a full basket, you can come to either workshop.
